Editing The Recording
The semester is quickly approaching its end and with that, I am happy to say that I got my schedule all planned out for next semester. With what we are doing in class I have finished the base recording which I will build off of and edit. I know a lot of people probably feel the same way about this but for whatever reason I feel so weird hearing my own voice.
Surprisingly I had a difficult time recording as I would always mess up my words and in general, could not talk. In my opinion, it would have been easier to say everything in front of a group of people than recording it, not sure why. I am not ecstatic with what I have right now, of course, that is just the raw recording with a couple cuts here and there; hopefully when I add music and other effects it will be a lot cleaner.
I just used audacity for my recording but I am curious to see what you guys used and I might be inclined to try them in the future. Audacity works fine but it seems very plain to me. Thanks for reading and I hope all of your projects are going smoothly.
Update 11/8/2019
This week has been very exciting for me as I have finally got my laptop; no more lugging around a heavy and old borrowed laptop. With this, I will be using a lot more Photoshop. I am glad it is snowing, I think the wintertime is great. Focusing on class projects I was happy with the feedback I got on my podcast as I was worried how it would sound. I agree that I do need to dial down the background music and also try to connect my blog and brand to the podcast. I enjoyed hearing tidbits of all of your podcasts and look forward to listening to them in their entirety.

I used to hate hearing my own voice too haha. I got used to it though, and now it's not weird. Your topic has been interesting throughout the semester, mainly because it is pretty similar to mine (in the fact that we are doing it on just one person), so I am excited to see what you produce with this project.

Hey Ian, I wanted to comment on the consistency you've shown over the year. Not stagnation, in fact, out of all the blogs, I think yours has been the most Dynamic one from a growth perspective.
ReplyDeleteIt is refreshing to be around people who continue to produce material for something they're passionate about and I can't wait to get through to your podcast. My plan is to listen to everyone's over the weekend. Cheers. Enjoy yourself.
